Tent Rocks, NM
Jemez Springs, NM 87025
8:00am – 5:00pm
$5 per car
Located about an hours drive from Albuquerque, Tent Rocks is an unusual natural phenomenon. Initially formed by a massive volcanic eruption about 7 million years ago, erosion slowly changed the landscape into the tent rocks.
The trail is tough for those not acclimated to the Albuquerque altitudes. Its a fair climb to the top of a viewing area. Though, you can still have some good fun just in the slot canyons on the way up.
Similar to the slot canyons in Page, AZ, but without the annoying mandatory guides.
If you are in NM, this is a unique experience not to be missed. Plus its cheap and quick. Thanks for reading!hiking, new mexico, nm, roadtrip, slot canyon, tent rocks, tentrocks, wanderlust
