Desert Botanical Garden, AZ
If you are into plants that look like they are from a Star Trek episode, this is the place for you. Its truly fascinating seeing all the different plant species that can survive in such a harsh climate. They also are strangely beautiful. Some of the brightest colors i’ve seen in any sort of foliage growing on the top of cacti. The gardens are located about 15 minutes from downtown Phoenix. You can find more info on ticket prices via their website by clicking HERE.
The whole garden, was alive with activity. Pictured above, Bee on short final. (aviation joke) They also had butterflies in a small section. They were much less cooperative!
The place is massive, it takes a long time to really see all of it. There are numerous trails that loop around that go on for miles.
Bright colors everywhere and hardly any repetition.
There were alot of little critters running around the property. Most were friendly enough that you could get pretty close with a camera.
Not sure what this plant is called but it looked like someone put an Instagram filter on it. Super cool!
Alot of the paths are well shaded. They did a great job of putting water fountains and water bottle fill stations throughout the property.
This cactus had a funny name “old man”
