First Friday, Art and Food Festival, AZ
One of the many reasons I love where I live is First Friday. Every month, on the first Friday of the month, the neighborhood comes alive! A bit less popular in the wintertime, its hitting its full swing now in March. Many local artists, restaurants, and businesses bring their best. All of the many art galleries open their doors with special exhibits. Musicians perform with just enough space between them to not mix the sounds. If you live in the Phoenix area, you need to check this out!
Murals are everywhere in the area, and they are regularly updated.
Its an interesting mix of places, unlike any other street festival ive attended. There are alot of dark alley ways leading to random things, like this bike under a street light. It is however a very safe feeling area, people are walking around with their kids without a care in the world.
Back in an alleyway in between, JoBot and Bliss, some painters taking a break.
Art galleries come in all forms here, these are set up in shipping containers.
The sheer magnitude of this event, goes on for many city blocks
So many characters in one area, its a great place to people watch.
And finally what street festival would be complete without the nut jobs. Sad and entertaining at the same time.
