I want a good camera… what do I buy?
Just in time for tax season! I know many of you have holes burning in your pockets so here’s the short list. I’ve recommended this combo to pretty much everyone I know that’s asked me and I’ve seen some pretty positive results! I emphatically recommend the a6000 camera body. For 2 important reasons: One, its small. And two, its incredible. Now it even comes in 4 colors!
The price is kind of all over the place currently, the black and silver is the cheapest route at $450. The other colors are literally no different in specs other than the colors but will cost you an extra 100 bucks. Now the next part is what kind of lens to buy? Do not for the love of god buy a kit lens. They suck. You will take incredibly boring pictures with it.
Option one: the nifty fifty. Every photographer on the planet has one of these. And the Sony one is fantastic. The part number is: SEL50F18 and it will run you new in either black or silver, $250
Option two: the 35. This one is a bit more expensive but its the best all around lens if you are willing to spend the extra money. The part number is: SEL35F18 and it will run you $400.
And that’s it. So either $700 or $850 and your all set. Here are some images taken by my friends with the a6000 and the 50mm.
