La Jolla Cove, CA
Open: 24hrs / Cost: Free
If you want to see and smell sea lions and seals, this is the spot. Id advise getting there a little early as it gets pretty crazy after 11am. Parking is free for 3 hours if you can get there early enough to find a spot. Otherwise you’ll get gouged pretty good in one of the parking decks. Its a spectacular little town, just walking around is awesome. Theres a small shop on the north end of the area that also has a little tunnel down into a sea cave. The wild life is super used to people and will just sit there, even with people getting super close. Its absolutely awesome!
The water is absolutely stunning here. Clear and blue like a Caribbean paradise. It is however, freezing cold!
The crowds of people starting to build up.
An adorable sea lion sun bathing.
The tunnel ($5) down to a sea cave
More views from La Jolla. If you are in San Diego, make this a morning stop. Its well worth the short drive out of the city!
