Papago Park (Hole in the Rock) AZ
My travel buddy Christine and I decided to have a low key day out in the Phoenix valley instead of the usual long drive out of town. Our itinerary was the art museum and the botanical gardens. While we were in the botanical gardens we both caught sight of the somewhat famous “hole in the rock”. I had seen a few posts about it on Pinterest and we both decided as a last stop it would be worthwhile. We couldnt have been more incorrect. Im not sure if it was just the day we decided to go (Friday) but it was crawling with degenerates of all ages. Almost to the point where I would say it isnt safe unless you are packing. Even then, its maybe not worth the risk. Its a shame because the park area is actually nice looking. But it got so bad it was comical. We sat in the car and people watched for a minute. One after the other, pants sagged, hats were flat-billed, and they all had that total blank stare of an empty head. It would be nice to see the place cleaned up but my hopes are not high.
Looking up toward the “hole”.
Without some skillful photoshop, this picture would have been filled in the background.
This is my “not amused face” as some rather rude individuals were yelling at me in some sort of gibberish.
Not sure what was happening here. But it was weird.
The amount of people taking selfies here was nauseating.
At least from a long distance it looks ok.
Christine always being a good sport with my photo direction.
All in all Id say leave this one off your bucket list. Unless you just happen to be in the area and want to brave the crowds of Bernie Sanders supporters. Best of luck!arizona, hole, hole in the rock, lame, papago park, park, rock
