Rockabilly Bash, AZ
Rockabilly bash is an annual event held in downtown Phoenix. 2016 marked their 5th event. Its hard to describe the event really as a category. Its part car show, car meet, drag race, beauty pageant, 1950s party, burnout contest, and mini bike race. All in all its a good time for the $15 entry fee. Arriving early is advisable as the parking near the entrance fills up quickly. From what I could tell it wasnt a very organized gathering, the drag races were available to whoever paid to enter their vehicle. Mini bikes, actual drag cars, mopeds. The burnout contest was similar. whoever drove up could just smoke out the area.
Some of the hilarious drag races. It was a very short track, the most entertaining as a result were the slowest.
I dont know what these things were but they were everywhere. A couple of them raced, but alot of them were being driven around by teenagers. Surprisingly, none of the kids driving them around were causing any sort of shenanigans. Great job parents!
Loved how ornate and detailed they were.
The mini bike races, a bit anticlimactic. A high center of gravity meant they didnt go very fast.
More of the, interesting creations.
Some kids riding their bikes away from the burnout contest smoke show.
I love these for photo reasons, dramatic shots made easy!
Probably my favorite of the car show, the attention to detail on this car was mesmerizing.
Such an interesting lifestyle!
