Another Michigan thing, and a bit touristy. The tulip festival in Holland pretty much shuts down Holland for a week with gridlock traffic and tourists everywhere. So naturally I had to see it for myself. Andrea used to live out there and loathed it, yet shes always a good sport with my photo ops so off we went. There aren’t that many “epic fields”. The farm that puts on the show has limited rows to walk through, however there are a lot of varieties.
This was probably the most “full” of a shot I could manage of tulips. Its not like the real Holland in the Netherlands where theres literally one type for as far as the eye can see.
Andrea putting up with my photo requests 🙂
I found that the best views were getting close to the flower patches. I love a good pattern/texture and these didn’t disappoint.
We had an overcast day as well, which helped with nice diffused lighting. Sunset could be decent here but they close before It gets anywhere close to it. There might be some other options in town however as they have small patches around parks and what not.
Wood shoe rejects. This is another touristy thing. Spend $50 on a pair of shoes you cant wear!
And finally, we got some food downtown. Afterwards the sky opened up and it rained like crazy. Which added to the fun I think. We were running to the car with full stomachs laughing at what we were doing. All in all id say a pretty good day exploring touristy things!
